Too many social work students and graduates struggle with high student debt to salary ratios and that needs to change. NASW-NYS Chapter launched an advocacy campaign to expand New York State’s Social Work Loan Forgiveness Program. Together with the NYS Association of Deans of Schools of Social Work and NASW-NYC, our Chapter co-sponsored a Student Lobby Day in Albany on March 4th, 2014 to advocate in support of this critical program. The efforts paid off! $250,000 of additional funds has been added to this years budget! Please consider volunteering to help with future lobby days for our profession!
