Thank you to all the social workers, faculty, and students who attended the 2017 Social Work Student Legislative Education Advocacy Day (LEAD) at the NYS Capitol on Tuesday, March 28, 2017!

On Tuesday, March 28, over 800 BSW & MSW social work students, educators, and leaders from 21 schools of social work across New York State gathered at the Capitol to advocate on behalf of two key legislative issues:
(1) Social Work Investment Initiative
(2) Raise the Age
Different from years past, this year’s LEAD event included a morning Raise the Age rally and introduced a new LEAD activity: blanket canvassing the floor.
The event was co-sponsored by the National Association of Social Workers – New York State Chapter (NASW-NYS), the New York State Association of the Deans of Schools of Social Work, and the New York State Social Work Education Association.
