Continuing Education Partnership Program (CEPP)
The Continuing Education Partnership Program (CEPP) gives organizations, individuals, and agencies offering educational programming the opportunity to provide participants with New York State Education Department (NYSED) approved Continuing Education Credit (CE) through the National Association of Social Workers - New York State (NASW-NYS), a NYSED approved provider (ID#10014). NASW-NYS agrees to administer social work continuing education contact hours for the educational program(s) referred to as part of this agreement, pending their approval(s) by NASW-NYS.

- CEPP accepts in-person and online live programs, including individual workshops and multi-day conferences. Pre-recorded/on-demand programs are not eligible.
- All programs submitted for accreditation through the NASW-NYS CEPP must meet the event record keeping, administration, and documentation requirements outlined in this document, in accordance with NYSED continuing education standards.
- The Partner is responsible for all day-of coordination and facilitation, including Zoom hosting, registration, sign-in/sign-out, and evaluation management. NASW-NYS no longer offers day-of onsite or virtual support.
- Review presenter credentials and program content to ensure compliance with NYSED CE guidelines.
- Provide the Partnership Partner with an invoice within 10 business days after the signing of this agreement by both parties.
- Maintain all post-program records, including sign-in sheets, evaluations, CE certificates, as required by NYSED.
- Disseminate CE certificates to eligible attendees within 10 business days of receiving required post-program documentation from Partnership Partner.
- Oversee all program logistics, content development, and facilitation.
- Retain responsibility for all vendor contracts related to the program.
- Oversee all day-of event operations including Zoom hosting (if applicable), attendee sign-in/sign-out, registration, and evaluation distribution.
- If the training is offered on Zoom, the Partner is responsible for sending the Zoom registration link to attendees and providing access to NASW-NYS for attendance verification.
- For every 60 minutes of CE programming, the Partner is allowed up to 10 minutes of flexibility (e.g., breaks, early wrap-up, Q&A).
- Forward the registrant spreadsheet to NASW-NYS for the processing of CE certificates within 2 business days of program delivery
- Registrant spreadsheet must include first name, last name, e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number of all attendees
- Provide NASW-NYS with copy of all on-site registrations within 2 business days of program delivery
- Provide NASW-NYS with copy of all program evaluations within 2 business days of program delivery
- Provide NASW-NYS with copy of sign-in/sign-out sheet(s) with individual participant signatures within 2 business days of program delivery
An invoice will be issued after CEPP program approval. Full payment is due five (5) business days before the program date. Preferred payment method is ACH transfer.
NASW-NYS is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for the following professionals:
- Licensed Social Workers (Provider ID #0014)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselors (Provider ID #MHC-0053)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (Provider ID #MFT-0037)
- Licensed Psychologists (Provider ID #PSY-0088)
Those interested in applying must meet the following criteria:
- Earned a master’s or doctorate degree in a social science or related field, and have at least 3 years post-graduate work experience.
- Demonstrate expertise in the training content through research, practice, or previous program development and teaching experience.
- Qualified to teach the courses/educational activities which will be offered, including but not limited to: licensed master of social work or licensed clinical social worker; faculty of a social work program offered by a higher education institution; or instructors who are specifically qualified authorities in their field of practice or area of expertise.
- For anti-racism and cultural competence presentations specifically: these must be presented by a community member who meets or exceeds the professional experience criteria listed above, and has lived experience with the diversity area of the presentation topic.
Each CE program approved through the NASW-NYS Continuing Education Partnership Program (CEPP) will be valid for one (1) calendar year from the date of initial approval.
During that one-year period, the program partner may deliver the approved program multiple times. A $500 per CE credit hour, CE Administration Fee per event will be applied to each occurrence.
After the one-year approval period, the program must be resubmitted for approval, a new CEPP agreement must be signed, and a $300 program approval fee will apply.

The following items need to be submitted in order for our CE Coordinator and Program Review Team to assess and accept all future programming:
✓ Download the NASW-NYS CE Course Application Form Please note that the course application form must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
✓ An up-to-date résumé or CV, along with a list of prior CE presentations
✓ Send all materials to info.naswnys@socialworkers.org with the subject like ‘CEPP Program Proposal’.
