Rekindling the Flame: A creative Wellness Workshop for Therapists

Course Description:

This event will explore compassion fatigue and the effects on mental health professionals/Social Works providing mental health services to the community. The conversation will explore the ethics and standards necessary to treat this vulnerable population. Through creative wellness and mindfulness practices, participants will explore restorative techniques that nourish the self, enhance resilience, and cultivate a healthy environment for clients/patients and Social Workers.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the impact of compassion fatigue on both work and personal life.
• Develop a working understanding of compassion fatigue, including distinct features and relationship to burnout.
• Identify key symptoms of compassion fatigue, including emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and a decline in empathy.
• Specifically examine how compassion fatigue impacts social workers.
• Discuss the importance of self-care and boundaries to better manage compassion fatigue.
• Learn effective stress management and coping strategies to manage compassion fatigue, including mindfulness, reflection, and relaxation techniques.

Continuing Education Credits:
