Once a Social Worker, Always a Social Worker: A Social Work Life Cycle Panel

At what point exactly do you become a social worker, and when, if ever, do you set that title down? How does life and professional experience shape your practice and can do you stay rooted in your call to service? This lifecycle Chapter Chat panel will feature social workers at different points in their career describing their current positions, their journey through the profession, and what they have learned through each step. The panel will include the lens of students, new graduates, mid-career social workers, seasoned professionals, and retired social workers. This will show the diversity of the field and possibly inspire budding social workers and renew the spirit of social work in professionals throughout the career span. After hearing about the experiences of social workers on our panel, we will open for dialogue with attendees for continued discussion on how approach to practice and clients changes, and stays the same, over time.

These are conversations hosted by social workers, for social workers. Open to all who would like to attend, and any NASW member is invited to host a topic or conversation!
