This will be an interactive learning experience with the aim of teaching clinicians the tools of treating anxiety disorders with the most relevant cognitive behavioral techniques. Participants will be exposed to the theoretical underpinnings of CBT and will have hands-on experience practicing the presented skills and return to their practice with a new set of skills and forms ready to be implemented.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn essential components of CBT for anxiety, psychoeducation, exposure, and cognitive restructuring
- Learn how to adapt and apply the core skills to the variety of anxiety disorders
- Have the opportunity to see the techniques demonstrated and then have a chance to test our their new skills in interactive role plays

9:45 – 10:30 Review of anxiety disorders, CBT conceptualization, and homework
10:30 – 11:00 Exposure-based interventions

11:10 – 12:10 Demonstration of in vivo exposure
Practice 1 - developing fear hierarchy
Practice 2 - in vivo practice (elevator phobia)
