Workshop Description
Despite decades of legal and social reform aimed at reducing inequity, structural racism continues to be a significant problem in all societies and most organizations. Conversations around or about institutional racism without a mutual understanding of what it is and how it operates in our environment often unknowingly perpetuates harm. Having a shared understanding is the first step in dismantling institutional racism. This is an interactive workshop that will provide participants with the opportunity for radical introspection. Participants will have the opportunity to engage, create, and have conversations to develop  a deeper understanding of your institutional power and how to leverage it to counter structural racism.

Learning Objectives

After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

1.    Describe how structural racism is different from other forms of racism
2.    Define and describe misunderstandings about commonly used terminology, such as structural racism, social capital, and institutional power.
3.    Explain ways organizational values either support or disrupt Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

This workshop is approved for 3.0 continuing education credit hours.
