Workshop Description

All nonprofit organizations must consider securing diverse funding to successfully operate programs. It is increasingly critical for organizations to fully identify resources needed (prior to program implementation), demonstrate program impact, conduct ongoing evaluation throughout the course of the program, and anticipate sustainability needs. This interactive training will demonstrate how to use logic models to determine the financial, human resource, and evaluation needs for program development and grant proposals. Participants will be encouraged to bring current program ideas (or descriptions of programs for which they are seeking funding). There will be opportunities to create draft logic models to be used in future grant proposal development.

Learning Objectives

After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the components of a logic model
  • Understand the role and importance of stakeholders in developing logic models
  • Understand why using a logic model as a “live” tool for program development, evaluation, and grant reporting is an effective way to secure program funding
  • Practice developing logic model and incorporating logic model information into a grant proposal

This workshop is approved for 5.0 continuing education credit hours.

NASW-NYS is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers (Provider ID #0014), licensed mental health counselors (Provider ID #MHC-0053), licensed marriage and family therapists (Provider ID #MFT-0037) and licensed psychologists (Provider ID #PSY-0088).

Tracey completed the National Association of Black Social Workers’ Academy for African Centered Social Work, and Undoing Racism® by The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond. It was through these courses that Tracey really began to understand how deeply systemic racism and oppression impact people and communities of color in the United States and abroad. She is committed to helping organizations and individuals understand what it means to be anti-racist, and how they can shift their thinking and practice to truly provide equitable opportunities and programs. She currently serves as an adjunct faculty for Howard University’s graduate and Molloy University’s undergraduate social work programs. Tracey believes in the power of UBUNTU – “I am because we are, and because we are, therefore, I am”. Our connectedness to one another makes us who we are. Without one another, we would not be able to accomplish our goals. By combining the strength of Ubuntu, the knowledge provided by comprehensive and accurate data, well developed operational systems, accountability, and thoughtful, focused decision-making, we can move mountains.
