Workshop Description
Empower Your Practice: Ethical Boundaries and Self-Care Mastery for Social Workers is an interactive 90-minute course that examines our ethical responsibilities to maintain boundaries with our clients and other stakeholders through the lens of self-care. Participants will explore the signs of compassion fatigue and burnout and how their experiences of them impact their ability to establish and maintain boundaries in their work. The course will explore how one’s social identities, particularly racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities inform their experience of compassion fatigue and burnout and their ability to honor boundaries.
Through real-life scenarios and role-playing exercises, attendees will develop and practice boundary-setting techniques. The power of holistic self-care will be highlighted, along with practical self-care planning and leadership strategies to support well-being and ethical boundary setting within social work organizations and teams.
