Workshop Description
This workshop is aimed towards generalist mental health providers and teams. It provides an overview of borderline personality disorder (BPD) formulation and features along with exploring common challenges like vague plans, triangulation, transference/countertransference and more that generalist social workers face when working with the BPD population. Part of the workshop is dedicated to familiarizing staff with a systematic approach when working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This approach emphasizes a curious, responsive, and optimistic therapeutic stance that aims to foster secure attachment and allows for effective crisis planning, problem-solving, case management and advocacy support. Some tips and "must" skills are also explored.
