WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Provides an overview of the reporting requirements for human service professionals under the NYS Protection of People with Special Needs Act. This training includes instructions on how to report an incident to the Vulnerable Persons Central Register (VPCR), what to report and what happens after a report is made to the VPCR.
Participants will: learn about their responsibilities as a mandated reporter under the Protection of People with Special Needs Act, how to report incidents to the VPCR operated by the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs’ including what a reportable incident is, when and how to report, what happens to a report as well as information about the jurisdiction of the Justice Center.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Davin Robinson is currently employed as the Deputy Director of Outreach, Prevention and Support at the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Davin was previously employed by the NYS Commission on Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities as the Director of Intergovernmental Relations. Before working for New York State, she worked at the Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy (SCAA) and the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation and Office of Management and Budget. Davin has a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago and completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University.
