Workshop Description
This workshop teaches practitioners to enhance and maintain practice efficacy in working with parents of special needs children. This training teaches participants the technique to understand the perspectives of their client related to child disability diagnosis and help in providing appropriate services focusing on the “person in environment”. This training is for participants who work with families in programs related to Early Intervention and Special Needs parenting counseling/ Parenting skills and Parent Mental Health.
Learning Objectives
After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify contemporary theories applicable to organize and develop intervention strategies for children experiencing developmental delays.
- Identify perceptions about disability that influence parent’s willingness to accept and/or deny offered services and engage with appropriate providers.
- Construct appropriate interventions that meet the needs of vulnerable, diverse minority groups.
This workshop is approved for 1.5 continuing education credit hours.
