Following this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify and describe common and varied identities and experiences of military personnel and analyze how these can influence their post-military lives.
2. Analyze how assumptions, identities, values, and beliefs of (non-veteran) social workers can influence their work with veterans.
3. Evaluate common misconceptions and stereotypes about veterans, and articulate strategies to challenge these in order to recognize the complexity of veterans’ individual identities.
