AI for Social Work Organizations: Strategic Planning and Policy Implementation for Your Agency
Workshop Description
This workshop is tailored for social workers seeking to strategically implement AI into their agency or organization. This session will guide participants through an AI Implementation Roadmap structured into four pivotal phases, supporting the integration of generative AI into social work practices aligned with an organization’s vision for providing social work services. The workshop will review these 4 critical phases:
- Initiating Foundational Knowledge and Data Collection: Beginning with an assessment phase on collecting information from stakeholders on AI needs and concerns in order to provide a solid foundation for a successful AI integration strategy.
- Enhancing Staff Professional Development: Generating professional development plans to tailoring professional growth of social work staff, boosting their proficiency in AI literacy. The aim is to cultivate a workforce that is not only skilled in AI applications but also committed to ethical utilization and the adoption of responsible practices that aligned with the values of social work.
- Policy Creation and Effective Dissemination: Steps on crafting AI policies, drawing upon the insights from a broad range of stakeholders. Developing policies that are not only comprehensive but also shareable and actionable, facilitating smooth adoption and implementation across organizations.
During the session, participants will be provided a guide for a personalized action plan offering a clear, actionable strategy for integrating AI within their agency’s existing structures and service models. Participants will be provided a free tool kit on implementing AI policies and strategic planning for social work organizations including examples of assessment and data collection, focus group discussions, AI policy templates, and professional development resources.
This workshop is part of a three-part series, but each session is a stand-alone offering. Members do not need to attend all three to earn CE credit — they can register for and attend just one session and receive CE credit for that individual program.
