ABOUT THE SERIES

The NASW-NYS Student Series supports BSW, MSW, and Doctoral students through monthly programming throughout the academic year. The series is designed to strengthen students’ foundation in their present educational experience and broaden prospects as they prepare to enter the social work field. This series will provide tangible training for students as they prepare to transition to the workforce or graduate school and unite the powerful NYS social work student body.

Leadership Committee!

 The Student Leadership Committee is responsible for recruiting student members, developing support structures for social work students across New York State, and contributing to the social work student series.  The SLC meets monthly via zoom. Any social work students across New York State are welcome to join the committee, regardless of membership status! Student Membership

In addition to all the benefits of regular member, our student membership has expanded programming and resources to support the scholar in their environment. The expansion of free student benefits has included practice education trainings, networking, and advocacy programming to enhance the social work education experience. This series will build on NASW-NYS as a trustworthy and dependable resource for leadership development, peer support, exposure to a wide variety of unique and specific practice areas, and anti-racism and anti-oppressive self-reflection and training. Social Work Student Leadership Committee

At NASW-NYS, there is no decision about you without you. The Survive and Thrive Student Series is overseen by the Social Work Student Leadership Committee (SWSLC). The SWSLC is responsible for recruiting student members, developing support structures for social work students across New York State, and contributing to the social work student conference.
