Mindfulness Interventions in Therapy

Workshop Description

This workshop will provide education about the basic principles of mindfulness interventions, its relationship with mental health, and how to incorporate it into treatment planning. Participants will be able to describe mindfulness tools, how mindfulness can be used to improve mental health, and design treatment plans that incorporate mindfulness interventions.


Learning Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and describe at least 3 mindfulness tools.
  • Describe at least 3 ways mindfulness can be used to improve mental health.
  • Incorporate at least 3 mindfulness interventions into a therapeutic treatment plan.

Continuing Education Credits: 2.0

This workshop is approved for licensed social workers, licensed mental health counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, and licensed psychologists.


Presenter: Keisha Cox

Keisha Cox is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a 500-hour certified yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience in mental health. A graduate of New York University’s School of Social Work, Keisha has worked with children and adults across a range of settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, residential treatment programs, school-based services, and employee assistance programs. Specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Yoga Therapy, and Life Coaching, she integrates holistic practices to support individuals in enhancing their mental well-being, while also guiding fellow clinicians in building their practices and offering training to support workplace wellness. As the founder of The Wellness Connection, LLC, Keisha leads a comprehensive wellness program that offers yoga, meditation and a group therapy practice that services Connecticut, Delaware, and New York.

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to NSandul.naswnys@socialworkers.org no later than two business days prior to the workshop date. If you do not attend, you will be considered a ‘no-show.’

Refund emails must include the subject line “Refund Request” and the attendee’s name, workshop date, and title in the body of the email.

  • All refunds are subject to a 20% administrative fee.
  • Refund requests typically take 5 business days to process.
  • No refunds for no-shows or partial participation.
  • We do not issue credits or apply refunds to future courses.
  • If NASW-NYS cancels the event, you will receive a full refund.
