Workshop Description

Maintaining healthy boundaries is often talked about in therapeutic circles—but what is it? And why is it so important right now? Healthy boundaries are the limits that maintain an individual’s autonomy so that mental and emotional health is not sufficiently compromised by another person. COVID-19 has presented a particular challenge to boundary-setting as more families and cohabitants have found themselves spending much more time together over the past year and, as we move into a post-pandemic world, will again see a large shift in their interactions as they are able to more freely move about once more.

This webinar will explore boundary setting in these unusual times including understanding what healthy boundaries look like, triggering situations that can cause disruptions in healthy boundaries, and ways to cope with issues and reinstate boundaries when they are overstepped.

Learning Objectives

After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a clear definition of what personal boundaries are and the elements of healthy boundaries
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the signs of Rigid, Porous and Healthy boundaries
  • Demonstrate steps to improve or maintain healthy boundaries when boundaries are infringed upon
  • Understand the ways in which personal boundaries have been compromised during the COVID-19 pandemic
