Aging trends, longer lifespans, dementia, increased care needs and options, changing government benefits and regulations , all of these topics have a profound effect on the elderly. How has the law changed in recent years and how can the elderly navigate the current legal landscape effectively? In this one day, information-packed seminar, you will hear about the latest rules and how they affect your clients and patients. You will learn not only how to advise seniors, but how to steer them toward taking proactive steps to manage the challenges of aging and help avoid crises. You will pick up important tips for caregivers and other family members, and gain a better understanding of how families can plan effectively. You will also discover ways to deal with the effects of incapacity and death. Our personalized approach to elder law is not only unique, but also an effective way to help our elders maintain maximum independence while respectfully providing them the guidance they require. In addition, we have received continuing education approval and this seminar will allow social workers, nurses, and nursing home administrators to earn 7 continuing education credits.

Learning Objectives:

To provide attendees with knowledge and certainty as to various issues that lie between the legal, medical and social work fields as to legal capacity, social security and Medicaid entitlement, qualification and application; Veterans Benefits, Estate Planning and administration

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

jeffreypreisner.jpg

Jeffrey P. Reisner, Esq.

I am a former Judge, former Assistant District Attorney and former civil trial attorney; however, in recent years has dedicated his entire working life to Estate Planning, Asset Protection and Elderlaw. I made that transition because I am happiest when "everybody wins" and that result is generally unattainable in the world of litigation, whereas, I achieve that result every single time I build a customized estate plan to protect my clients, and their assets so they can provide for their families for generations to come. Prior to focusing on this area of practice, I witnessed the financial devastation that occurs when families are not protected and provided for. I saw far too many families suffer needless financial devastation because of their loved ones' failing health and the unavoidable need for long-term skilled nursing care. Even worse, I saw those financial frustrations cause enormous family strife and destroy previously strong family bonds.

A native of Olean, New York, I attended the State University of New York College at Buffalo, and obtained my Juris Doctor from the Franklin Pierce Law Center (Now The University of New Hampshire Law School) in 2003. Since then, I have founded and grown Reisner Law Group, PLLC into a multi-office Asset Protection, Estate Planning and Elderlaw firm.

I am admitted to practice in all courts of the States of New York and Pennsylvania. Additionally, I am a member of the New York State Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
