Workshop Description
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are common and can have lifelong impacts on physical and mental health. It is critical for social workers to engage in person-centered and trauma-informed practices to address the impacts of ACEs and traumatic experiences. This program will outline trauma informed care and Adverse Childhood Experiences, and address the following questions: how has ACEs research included cumulative/generational/racial trauma?; and how can we create environments that address ACEs and trauma? This workshop will provide steps for social workers  to examine safety and belonging, in order to  provide trauma informed services for clients and cultivate trauma informed practices within an organization.

Learning Objectives

After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify  trauma informed practices within an organization.
  • Evaluate the safety and belonging of their constituents.
  • Describe their level of attunement and unconditional positive regard within the organization.
  • Recognize collective care opportunities within their organization.

This workshop is approved for 1.5 continuing education credit hours.
