Workshop Description
If living through COVID-19 has taught us anything, it is that we must be mentally and emotionally strong to function through times of crisis, immense stress, uncertainty, and fear of the future. Couple this with the continuous human rights stressors and self-resiliency, and reaching one’s full potential is compromised. Given these and many other stressors, how can social workers equip our clients with the tools to persevere through hard times? The goal of this workshop is to introduce a somatic tool stress management tool that helps calm the brain and body. In this experiential skill development session, the presenter will teach EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping. This evidence-based self-administered tool aids with anxiety reduction, helps with trauma and other negative emotions by reducing re-traumatization, and is free to self-administer anytime and anywhere.
Learning Objectives
After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Explain how stress affects cognition and critical thinking
- Describe how EFT /tapping as a tool can help alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety
- Identify ways to implement Functional Tapping (FT) for stress, anxiety, and grounding.
This workshop is approved for 3.0 continuing education credit hours.
