WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This workshop will discuss the Opioid Epidemic and treatment implications for addiction and mental health disorders; will provide a brief overview of the history of opioid [heroin] use, OTP pharmacological & behavioral Treatment interventions, as well as examine the exacerbation of mental health symptomology.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the history and current state of Opioid Agonist Therapy
  • Understand the epidemiology of Substance Use Disorders & impact on mental health
  • Treatment interventions, as well as examine the exacerbation of mental health symptomology

 

 

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Victor J. Brown, LCSW is a devoted and highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience providing therapeutic services to individual patients, groups, and/or families. His background includes solid Healthcare Management skills to include staff training and development, community relations, program management, and regulatory compliance – obtaining multiple maximum licensing. He has significant strengths in interpersonal communications, presentations, consultations, and negotiations. Additionally, is highly proficient in assessing and diagnosing clients to provide effective case management. He incorporates positive attitude and flexible demeanor to maintain extraordinary relationships with clients, management staff, and healthcare administrators and works closely with health and clinical care staff from other facilities; and, serve as a liaison with supportive agencies as required. Mr. Brown is a multi-task oriented and results driven with a talent for delegating responsibilities based on individual strengths to maximize staff performance. He is an exceptional leader and team player with a proven record of progression and accomplishments in Social Work and Healthcare Management.
