Workshop Description

This presentation will discuss the use of cutting-edge practices, including traditional, holistic, and expressive therapies, as effective methods for treating a series of mental health challenges, such as Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD. Participants will learn about progressive treatment options that are effective in treating a variety of symptoms, such as panic, worry, intrusive thinking, apathy, and negative thinking. Participants will be provided with an overview of evidence based data in support of down regulating practices such as yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness. Presenter will discuss the dimensions of stress, how it affects our mind and body, and why these mind-body techniques are effective in regulating stress. Presentation will discuss the benefits of Expressive Therapies, including specific techniques per practice. Practices to be discussed will include: Music, The Arts, Storyboarding, Cinematherapy, Art Therapy, Nutrition, Yoga, Sound Healing, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Aromatherapy, Drama Therapy, Energy Practices, Breathwork, TRE (Trauma Release Exercise) and Mindfulness Practices. Workshop will be educational and experiential for attendees. This topic is helpful for practitioners, as they will learn direct, hands on techniques that can be used in practice.
