Workshop Description

Although Gambling Disorder has been reclassified as an addiction disorder in the DSM5, it’s still often seen as the “black sheep” of mental health and addictive disorders. Where exactly does this disorder fit? In and effort to answer this question, we’ll discuss the relationship between gambling disorder and other addiction and mental health disorders. Research has shown that not only are these disorders linked, but they are also different in important ways which informs how practitioners screen and treat gambling disorder, and how we support recovery. Resources for screening, support and additional learning will also be explored.
