Workshop Description

This training will provide participants with an understanding of nonverbal communication and its importance in relation to clinical supervision. Participants will learn how nonverbal communication exists as a natural part of the interpersonal communication process. In this training, special emphasis will be placed on the dyadic relationship between supervisor and supervisee. This will yield a comprehensive understanding of the many social factors that influence the way nonverbal messages are communicated. Finally, participants will learn the ways in which their own nonverbal cues can influence, not only the supervisory relationship, but personal relationships as well.

Learning Objectives

After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the orgins of nonverbal communication and its significance within clinical supervision.
  • Identify various nonverbal cues that commonly take place during clinical supervision
  • Describe how nonverbal cues from supervisors affect the supervisee’s experience in supervision
  • Determine the meaning of specific nonverbal cues and detect identifiers that influence communication.

This workshop is approved for 1.5 continuing education credit hours.
