Workshop Description

(CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on teaching coping skills to target psychological problems. The CBT approach is an evidence-based therapeutic approach and can be applied across many diagnostic categories and treatment populations. A diversity of current approaches within the CBT paradigm will be reviewed: CBT, REBT, ACT, Schema, and Trail Based Cognitive models. Std’s will gain an understanding of the cross-cutting techniques across all sub-groups and understand the differences.

This practical mini-course will provide students an understanding of the principles and practice of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an empirically validated treatment model. Students will gain an understanding of the (CBT) Cognitive-Behavioral approach as a framework for treating a variety of mental health concerns. In addition to understanding the theoretical context for this model, this course will offer a practical skills approach for students to utilize directly in clinical settings.

Learning Objectives

After the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the theoretical framework of CBT
  • Conceptualize a client case with a CBT perspective.
  • Identify and apply a variety of cognitive, behavioral, mindfulness, sensory and mind-body skills within the CBT framework with clients.

This workshop is approved for 6.0 continuing education credit hours.
