Stories of Strength, Voices of Change

Dear Social Work Community,

Oprah Winfrey once said: “What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have.”

NASW-NYS is creating a new video series entitled “Stories of Strength, Voices of Change” and we need your help!

“Stories of Strength, Voices of Change” was created as a brave space to elevate Black, Indigenous, People of Color and various intersectionality’s voices and honor their valuable stories in a space where all are encouraged to listen, learn, feel, connect, and reflect.

We are seeking submissions of Creative Videos 3-7 Minutes in Length AND a separate 2-3 minute video about the story or an event that inspired the video. The videos can be anything creative in nature, Singing, Dancing, Storytelling, Spoken Word, Poetry, etc. We encourage anyone and everyone to submit, this includes social workers, clients, students, and anyone with a story to tell.

Please submit your videos and release form to info.naswnys@socialworkers.org.

Videos will be uploaded on a rolling basis.
